ISANS and the Atlantic Immigration Program Journey

DID YOU KNOW? Immigration is being referred to as an essential part of our climate goals because we simply do not have the workforce in the country at present to meet this challenge. At a recent HRAI AGM Conference, BuildForce Canada shared that the estimated trade requirement is forecasted to be over 10,000 new jobs in 10 years in the HVAC trade alone, primarily due to efforts to reduce our dependence on fossils fuel. Trained/skilled newcomers have been identified as an integral part of the solution to closing this gap and meeting Canada’s Net Zero 2050 goals. 

Join fellow EPP Member, Dale Comeau, owner of Comeau Refrigeration Ltd. as he provides his first-hand experience of working through the ISANS/AIP process of bringing an immigrant employee to Canada to work for his organization.   

Dale will walk you through his mindset and the steps, including the website references and paperwork pieces required for this rewarding process. (30 minutes) 

We will also hear from Jordan Remedios, the Coordinator for the Intercultural Workplace Program at the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia.  Jordan will introduce the importance of cultural awareness and creating culturally inclusive workplaces. (30 minutes)
