Natural Resources Canada has developed a package of materials for air source heat pump (ASHP) sizing and selection. These materials are intended for use by mechanical contractors and designers to encourage best practices in sizing and selecting ASHPs for Canadian climates, in both new and retrofit residential applications.

This webinar will feature a demonstration of the Air Source Heat Pump Sizing and Selection Tool, applied to a centrally ducted gas-heated home retrofit. Attendees will:

• Understand the importance of using a systematic approach over a “rule of thumb” method when sizing ASHPs for their customers
• Review the use and functionality of the ASHP Sizing and Selection Tool
• View the application of the tool to a centrally ducted home retrofit scenario
• Learn about upcoming workshops and training opportunities on ASHPs in Atlantic Canada

Presenter Bio: Jérémie Leger is a project leader with the Local Energy Efficiency Partnerships team (LEEP) at NRCan. He is a specialist in HVAC systems with a particular interest in thermal comfort and works closely with the Canadian home construction industry to find local solutions to barriers to innovation for mechanical system with the goal of reaching higher levels of performance.
