Fridge and Freezer Recycling

Older fridges and freezers can use more electricity than any other appliance in your home, so retiring them can mean real savings—up to $180 a year.

Step 1

Ensure that your appliance is eligible.

View the refrigerator and freezer eligibility requirements.

Step 2

Call us toll-free at 1-888-779-8669 or book a pick-up online. Pick-ups are available Monday to Friday, typically within 3 weeks of booking.

Step 3

Empty your appliance and ensure it still cools by plugging it in 2-4 hours before your appointment. We will verify at pick-up.

Step 4

Ensure that the path from the appliance to the exit of the home is clear and free of obstructions for removal.

Step 5

Make sure someone over the age of 18 is home for the pick-up to sign a release form.

Step 6

Sit back and relax, while we do the heavy lifting and recycle your appliance(s) properly.

You’ll receive a cheque in the mail in a few weeks!

Drop-off option

If you don’t qualify for the pick-up service, you can drop off your eligible mini fridge, mini freezer or air conditioner units at ARCA Canada Inc.

Appliance must meet eligibility requirements.

Drop-off location: ARCA Canada Inc. in Dartmouth
Fill in your contact information to have your cheque mailed out in 4-6 weeks.
