Important Notice About Efficiency Nova Scotia Programs

Please note that contractors doing work through any of Efficiency Nova Scotia’s programs will NOT request any sensitive customer information such as identification (driver’s license, SIN card, or other personally identifiable info), void cheques or banking information.

HomeWarming
For our HomeWarming program, a contractor will be assigned to your file by Efficiency Nova Scotia. This contractor will reach out to you directly and will identify themselves as a contractor working with Efficiency Nova Scotia and the HomeWarming program.

Should you receive calls or emails that cause any confusion, please contact Efficiency Nova Scotia to confirm what contractor has been assigned to your file.

Moderate Income Rebates, Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Grant (OHPA) & Home Energy Assessment
For these programs you must choose from one of our 11 contractors for your home energy assessment. For Moderate Income Rebate applicants, you must wait for program approval before having your home energy assessment.

Once approved and the initial assessment is complete, you are free to choose your own contractor to complete upgrades. We strongly encourage all customers to seek at least 3 quotes, be sure that you fully understand the terms of any contracts, and ensure that you’ve verified the equipment being installed is eligible for rebates. You can review all program eligibility here in our guide.

For ALL Programs
Contractors are not authorized to move customers between programs, approve applications, or determine rebate levels. Rebate levels can only be determined once all work has been completed, a final assessment occurs and the program team reviews for eligibility.
