How to Check for Drafts
DIY draft detector! Follow these four easy steps to check your home for drafts.
- Choose a windy day;
- Turn off the furnace and fans, close all windows and doors;
- Attach a thin piece of tissue to the tip of a coat hanger or stick;
- Slowly pass the device by window and door frames, electrical outlets, and dryer vents. If it flutters, this indicates a draft.
